Mukhyamantri Baristha Bunkar Karigar Sahayata Yojana 2024 is open to all permanent inhabitants of the state of Odisha who work as weavers or other handicraft artisans. It aims to preserve and promote the legacy of Odisha’s weavers and handicraft artisans. Male and female senior weavers and handicraft workers in the state of Odisha would receive financial help under this program from the Odisha government. Financial assistance allows handicraft artisans and weavers to continue their work without having to worry about running out of money. Under this scheme, financial assistance of INR 2,000 per month will be provided to female weavers, weaving assistants, and artisans in the age group of 40 to 80 years and male weavers and weaving assistants and artisans in the age group of 50 to 80 years. The financial assistance will be transferred directly to the selected applicant’s bank account.

• The plan was unveiled to preserve the customs and legacy of the state’s weavers and handcraft artisans.
• For women aged 40 to 80 and men aged 50 to 80, financial support of INR 2,000 is provided.
• Financial assistance allows handicraft workers and weavers to be self-sufficient in meeting their daily needs.
•  There are more than 1,25,000 weavers and weaving helpers engaged in weaving while there are more than 1,50,000 handicraft artisans in the state.

Eligibility Criteria

• The applicant must not have been a beneficiary of any corresponding scheme by the State Government or the Central Government.
• The applicant must not be a Government servant, taxpayer or pensioner of the Central or State Government.
• The applicant cannot be a central employee, a state or local government pensioner, or a taxpayer.
• In the survey list created by the directors of textiles and handicrafts, the applicant’s name must be listed as weavers and assistants involved in weaving and handicrafts.
• The candidate cannot have benefited from any comparable program run by the federal or state governments.
